Hey guys! You have no idea how much I miss our time together already. Each of you has brought so much joy and lively conversation to our class these past 2-3 months, and I'm so sad we can't meet face-to-face right now. However, that being said, we are going to overcome this time of trial and push forward.
Your assignments are going to all be on this page. If you have concerns, please reach out to me via Remind ASAP!
This will be a great learning opportunity as I will be asking you to write, produce, and act out your own puppet show based on our current play, The Importance of Being Earnest. Yes, you will have to make at least 2 puppets. Yes, you will have a scene that I give you. Yes, you will have to record it and upload it to either YouTube or send it to me via email. Yes, this sounds like a lot of work. But yes, I will baby step this the entire way. I will post all information below in the form of worksheets and YouTube videos. For now, here is a timeline of things that are due:
March 20:
Read Act 2 and answer questions on study guide by 3 pm
March 24:
Read Act 3 and answer questions on study guide by 3 pm
March 25:
Choose a portion of a scene/ Act (about 3-5 pages) that go together. Rewrite the scene from a different point of view. (Instead of it being high-class British characters, maybe your rewrite is from a favorite movie, television show, or fairytale.)
March 27:
Your rewrite of the chosen scene is DUE at 3 pm
This is a ROUGH DRAFT. Be sure to include all characters in the 'scene', and make it entertaining :)
April 6:
Puppet Theater video project due by 3 pm. View the puppet theater PowerPoint below for guidelines and the puppet show rubric for how I will grade your project.
As always, do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you might have. These are uncharted waters for us all, and I'm here to help and to listen <3

2019-2020 Season
During the fall semester, the SGCHS Theater Department hosted a dinner theater on November 8, 9, and 10 in the SGCHS Cafetorium. Our show was Murder's in the Heir, an audience-interactive murder mystery play, and we had a great turnout for our first year!
Our spring musical will be Disney's "Beauty and the Beast". Due to our school closing, we have had to postpone our shows. We invite you to come 'be our guest' on our SGC Theater Facebook page for more information on when the show will be rescheduled!
For the most current updates on all things SGCHS Theater, please follow us on social media at SGC Theater. As always, thank you for supporting the arts!
